Mentoring Workshop #2:
WEN of Greater Pittsburgh will be holding a mentor matching workshop called "Mentoring Menu" with Mentor Chair, Beth De Maagd of Seneca Resources on Thursday, July 18th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Giant Eagle Market District's Cooking School, Settlers Ridge. Main participants are WEN members who attended the Mentoring 101 Workshop and would like to be a mentor/mentee. The night will include selecting a "menu of options" for a successful mentor/mentee relationship. After the pairing of mentors, members will step into Chef Janice's test kitchen and bond with their new partner while making scrumptious appetizers. (Limit: 20 attendees, if we have more than 20 interested another event will be scheduled)

Chef Janice Kirich is the Team Leader for Market District's Cooking School in Robinson, PA. As a Penn State alum and a Cordon Bleu-trained culinarian, she brings more than 30 years of experience in the private, non-profit and corporate world. Her favorite meal to prepare, of course, is for her family and friends. Keeping up with foodie trends, she travels to bring home new and exciting culinary trends to share with you!

NOTE: We suggest that main participants are those who attended the Mentoring 101 Workshop. If you did not attend the first workshop, please see Beth De Maagd for materials prior to attending the "Mentoring Menu." Also, there will still be other opportunities to be a part of the mentor program even if you aren’t able to attend this workshop. The pairing isn’t necessarily a “final” pairing but an opportunity to meet a possible mentor/mentee.

ElizaBeth De Maagd is a Senior Representative for the Stakeholder Relations department at Seneca Resources Company, LLC in Pittsburgh, PA. Before joining Seneca, she was an environmental teacher who taught students about energy and Marcellus Shale development. Ms. De Maagd left the general classroom setting to embark on a career as an environmental and energy consultant.

Ms. De Maagd holds a Teaching Certification through the Pennsylvania Department of Education. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Carlow University, Pennsylvania along with a Teaching Certificate from Santa Monica College, California. Her additional college studies include criminal law, communications and environmental biology.

Ms. De Maagd is the Chair of Mentoring for the Women’s Energy Network and previously their Chair of Charities. Some of her awards include; the Woman in Action Award from WEN Houston, the Pittsburgh Business Times Energy Leadership Award, the Mayor Bob O’Connor Award for Environmental Stewardship, and the United Way’s Mister Rogers Good Neighbor Award for mentoring.
