Founder of Rustic Cuff and author of The Kindness Effect, Jill Donovan graduated from ORU and went on to earn her law degree from the University of Tulsa. She was a practicing attorney and adjunct law professor at TU when Rustic Cuff was born. A seed that she did not even know had been planted years earlier when she was a guest on Oprah. The experience ignited a change within her heart that would have a ripple effect on thousands of lives.
It was her obsession with cuff bracelets that led this creative woman in 2011 to teach herself leather-making and metal design late at night on the floor of her guest bedroom. Within three years Donovan was a nationally known jewelry designer, turning her part-time hobby into a full-time business. Today, Rustic Cuff jewelry is sold in more than 250 stores across the country and just last month the sixth RC showroom opened in Plano, TX. The brand has been featured on many national TV shows including Good Morning America, The Today Show, E! News and The View.
Donovan has an affinity for spontaneous adventures and taking on new hobbies including playing the harmonica and break dancing. And if there's a great concert in town, chances are you'll find her there. She’s married to her college sweetheart Terry and together they have two daughters.
A sought-after motivational speaker who encourages people to pursue their passions, Donovan often recites her favorite quote “Don’t compare your chapter one to someone else’s chapter 20.” And she loves the fact that almost as often as her customers buy cuffs to keep, they buy them to give away. “It’s about a connection that is made between two people, often strangers, when someone is moved to gift the cuff of their own wrist.” You truly can change your world… one act of kindness at a time.
