Join us 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m Tuesday, May 21, for our Oklahoma City Leadership Luncheon, CFO Perspectives.  Local industry financial leaders sharing their insights on today’s energy environment.

Panelists will include:

Jennifer M. Grigsby is Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of Ascent Resources, LLC, an independent natural gas and oil company focused in the Utica Shale in southern Ohio.  Grigsby previously served as Chief Financial Officer of American Energy - Woodford, LLC and Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of American Energy - Minerals, LLC.  Grigsby is also a principal and co-founder of Amethyst Investments, LLC, a passive financial investment company in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  Prior to Ascent and American Energy, Grigsby served as Senior Vice President, Corporate and Strategic Planning for Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE:CHK) from August 2013 to May 2014.  From 2007 to August 2013, Grigsby served as Senior Vice President, Treasurer and Corporate Secretary for Chesapeake and from 1995 to 2007 Grigsby served in various accounting, treasury and corporate secretary positions with increasing leadership responsibility. Prior to joining Chesapeake in 1995, Grigsby worked as an accountant for Deloitte & Touche LLP and Commander Aircraft Company.  Grigsby served as chair of the Board of Trustees of the Oklahoma State University Foundation from 2015 to 2017 and chair of the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association from 2013 to 2015.  Grigsby also serves on the board of directors of the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City, United Way of Central Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, Leadership Oklahoma City, The Petroleum Club of Oklahoma City and CrossFirst Bankshares, a bank holding company headquartered in Leawood, Kansas.  Grigsby received a BS degree in Accounting in 1991 from Oklahoma State University and her MBA from Oklahoma City University in 1999.  Grigsby is a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant and is a member of the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

John P. Laws has 20 years of progressive experience in leadership and management of corporate finance, corporate development, business development, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic planning activities. Presently, Mr. Laws serves as Executive Vice President, CFO and Treasurer of Enable Midstream Partners, where he manages the financial affairs of the business and plays a key role in guiding its strategic direction. Specifically, Mr. Laws provides leadership in the areas of corporate finance, accounting, financial planning, economic analysis of commercial projects, evaluating the strategic and financial merits of mergers and acquisitions, risk management and overall corporate strategy and culture definition. Mr. Laws has served in a leadership role with Enable since its formation in May 2013. Prior to the formation of Enable, Mr. Laws served at one of its predecessors, Enogex LLC, where he led the areas of the company responsible for capacity planning, financial planning, system optimization, and commodity management. Mr. Laws served at Enogex from January 2010 to April 2013. From July 2007 to December 2009, Mr. Laws served as Director of Corporate Development at OGE Energy Corp. At OGE, Mr. Laws was responsible for leading, evaluating and executing on certain corporate growth initiatives, such as increasing the company’s renewable and fossil fuel power generation portfolio, as well as evaluating strategic alternatives for select business units. Before joining OGE, Mr. Laws was Vice President of Hunt Private Equity Group, Inc., an affiliate of Hunt Investment Corporation, a private equity investment firm associated with the Ray L. Hunt family of Dallas, TX. Mr. Laws was with Hunt Private Equity Group from January 2001 to May 2007 and was responsible for sourcing, evaluating, executing, and managing investments for the firm. Mr. Laws began his post-collegiate career in the Valuation Services Group of Arthur Andersen LLP. Mr. Laws was employed with Arthur Andersen from December 1998 to December 2000. Mr. Laws earned an MBA from The University of Texas and a BBA in Finance from the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Laws has volunteered at a number of charitable organizations to include the Infant Crisis Center, where he currently serves as a member of the board.

Stephen Merrill has served as Chief Financial Officer of OGE Energy Corp since 2014. Previous to this, Mr. Merrill served as Executive Vice President of Finance and Chief Administrative Officer of Enable Midstream Partners, LP. He served as Chief Operating Officer of Enogex LLC, and Vice President of Human Resources of OGE Energy Corp prior to that.  Mr. Merrill has 30 years of diversified experience in the crude oil and natural gas industries. Steve holds a BS degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University and has completed a number of Leadership programs. Throughout his professional career, he has been active in numerous civic and community organizations and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Enable Midstream Partners, Integris Baptist Medical Center and Regional Food Bank.

Earl Stone has served large energy clients for most of his 18-year career. He has experience with natural gas transmission and storage companies, natural gas gathering and processing companies, distribution companies, crude oil transmission pipelines, and liquefied natural gas operations. His focus on the midstream sector provides him industry knowledge, which he has utilized to assist clients with public and private debt offerings, mergers and acquisitions, spinoffs, and internal control reviews. Earl serves as the lead client service partner for an entity engaged in the gathering, processing, transportation and storage of natural gas and crude oil.  Earl served as the lead audit partner for natural gas and crude oil infrastructure master limited partnership located in Texas.  In addition, Earl was an audit partner for a large energy entity which owns and operates a large and diversified portfolio of natural gas-related energy assets in the U.S. and Canada and is one of North America’s leading natural gas infrastructure companies.  Earl is also the lead audit partner for a joint venture company which owns and operates a liquefied natural gas terminal and natural gas pipeline in Texas. Earl serves as the engagement quality review partner for various entities serving in a role ensuring the performance of quality audits by engagement teams.  Earl has also been involved in furthering Deloitte’s quality initiative by serving as a coach for PCAOB engagements within the midstream sector. In addition to serving clients, Earl also serves as the lead audit recruiting partner for Oklahoma State University.  In this capacity, Earl is responsible for obtaining candidates for future employment at Deloitte, as well as maintaining professional relationships with Oklahoma State University faculty.  In addition, Earl serves as Deloitte’s Oklahoma Audit Leader. Earl started his career with Deloitte in its Charlotte, North Carolina office, after graduating from Clemson University.  Earl subsequently transferred to Deloitte’s Houston practice office.
