Speaker: Dr. Helen Currie, Chief Economist for ConocoPhillips Corporation

Dr. Helen Currie is the Chief Economist for ConocoPhillips Corporation. With over 25 years’ experience in business, government and academia, she brings unique perspectives to strategic planning at ConocoPhillips. Her current responsibilities involve long range planning and strategy development, investment analyses, political risk and scenario planning. Previous roles at ConocoPhillips include upstream and downstream business analysis, commercial risk management for all liquids, natural gas and power marketing, as well as risk systems project management.

From 2007-2010, Dr. Currie was with BG Group, leading the Americas Market Fundamentals research team to shape strategic planning, business development and trading strategies.

Prior to joining Conoco in 2001, Dr. Currie was on faculty at Elon University and LaGrange College for M.B.A. and undergraduate finance and economics programs. Her academic research focused on mortgage backed securities valuation and financial institutions management. Her other experience includes economic impact analysis of environmental policies, community economic development and strategic management consulting.
